Cub I

2017
50cm (20") long

Cub I is a one of a kind commissioned work. This was a very special commission, featuring weighted hips, slightly floppy limbs, and a solid rib cage. The exact design of Cub I was given to the client as part of the sale.

This creature is not quite as posable as much of my work - the legs are designed to stay in a resting pose, and the body is fairly stiff due to its size. The face and paws are sculpted in polymer clay, while the rest of the body is soft and constructed over an armature. Cub 1 is built from scratch and hand painted (yes, even the eyes are painted clay, not glass!) The synthetic fur is hand sewn to the body and remains soft.
